Christopher Bates brings you mens fashion at Toronto Fashion Week. The Toronto based menswear designer presented a contemporary collection called "Bright Lights, Big City" with clever detailing and exciting injections of colour. The show consisted of stylish fabrics and classic silhouettes. The use of zippers and leather accents took this collection up a notch and played a fun twist on your mainstream jeans and jackets. Bates explained during the show that he wants to excite next season with coloured jackets instead of black. In the show he presented a teal, bright blue and camel coloured jacket.
The suiting was also a joy to see. Playing with classic and modern was successfully achieved with exposed collar stays, modern tuxedo shirts and even kiss marks on the collar. Instead of a simple wool pant, Bates mixed it up with waxed denim motor cross jeans with exposed zippers and buttons.
Christopher Bates is one to watch, this man is going places.
