Balm Beach

Travel Journal

Mini trips are the best trips! As much as I enjoy a week away from it all, sometimes all I need are a few days out of the city to reset. Last week I ventured up North to clear my head and to enjoy some fun in the sun. I spent my time sitting on the beach, swimming, enjoying my friend's company, laughing and eating frozen yogurt!

I've always considered myself a city person; I love the hustle and bustle, and all the endless things to do in Toronto, but I equally enjoy being surrounded by the country side and the beautiful greenery. I take this time to relax, reflect and to redirect my energy. I believe that it's very important to take time for yourself. I feel like we get lost in our every day activities such as school, work, social obligations, family, etc, and potentially fall into a deep fatigue. We deserve to escape reality from time to time and to disappear. Maybe you don't have the time to leave for a few days, so try to take a walk, or explore a new part of the city. Sometimes it's as easy as turning your phone off and indulging in a good book or old movie. One of my personal favourite movies is Breakfast at Tiffany's.

What do you like to do to relax or escape?

  1. I love your posts. This one I can relate to as I love taking short trips as much as I can. Up north to cottage, long weekend to US city or Montreal. I am blessed my partner is a musician and a cottage owner so I get to travel a little extra 😉
So happy to see you enjoy the little things in life and everything else in between.
